One Pacific Place Serviced Residences (April 2017)

We're here last April for a quick stay cation. It's near Glorrieta and Century Mall. Checking-in took time, we wait for 30 mins just to be called that our room is ready (the longest so far we ever had).Room is okay it was big enough for us, but there's a stinky odor coming out from the sink and our mistake on not calling their attention about this matter 'cause even we spray a cologne it's still smelly (Room 3102 at 31st floor).

We booked via Travelbook.ph

A must have for baby

We recently bought Item from Land Mark Department store (Baby Section), This item is a must have for baby. Well... at least for us. And we make sure this item will be use and not for display only.

Belo Baby Cologne (Cool drizzle)

- We bought this since we want Tariel to smell fresh all day, and I didn't expect that Belo Cologne last for four hours aside from that it's really affordable PHP 79.75 for 100ml not bad.

Human Heart Nature Bug Shield Mosquito Repellent

- Recently Tariel got some mosquito bites and I really hate it 'cause it's leave a mark on his skin. So, we decided to bought him an insect repellent. We try this Human Heart Nature Bug Shield Mosquito repellant a DEET free oil.

Dr, Browns Coolees (Soothing Teether)

- Since Tariel started to have his teeth, we notice that he drools and bite a lots. So, to ease the pain we bought this teether. But we notice that he seldom use this.

Kidzoona (Fairview Terraces, Quezon City)

My one year old son is very active, that's why my husband and I looked for a place where he can move around freely. Good thing that there's a Kidzoona near us. It's an indoor playground where you're child can play around.

Where: Kidzoona (Fairview Terraces, Quezon City)

How much?: PHP300 for kid + 1 Guardian (90 min.)
 add  PHP150 for another Adult.

Tips:

⚫ Bring socks. They don't allowed bare foot inside. Or you will end up buying to them.
⚫Lockers are provided for shoes. Locker for bags are separated and you have to pay it.
⚫ Keep an eye to your child. Some kids run without looking who they bumped to. This is to prevent injury or any unto wards incident.
⚫ It's not only for kids. My husband and I enjoyed playing with my son who run and jump anywhere.

Overall the experience is good and we will definitely going back here.

Flying solo with a baby (Essential tips and Reminders)

Last February my husband was assigned to trained in Singapore. And we thought that it will be good idea if me and Tariel will follow him since I have worked that time, we just followed him three days after. And to tell you honestly it's not easy and that time Tariel is 10th month old (technically 'cause he celebrate his 11th month in Singapore). Another thing is it was my first time too! So here's my essential tip if you're going to travel alone with a baby.

  1. Diaper bag or Messenger bag - Is a no brainier that you will bring a diaper bag, but I no longer use a diaper bag instead I have a messenger bag with multiple pockets, and I wore it across my body so I can use my two hands. Make sure that all of important things are there. I just put 5 pieces of diaper, baby wipes, alcohol an extra cloth for baby of course a PEN, I.D, and passport for both of you.
  2.  Nursing Cover - I use this entire flight. I bought a formula milk but Tariel is fussy and he wants to nurse at me. And yes! literally until we arrived a Changi airport.
  3. Pacifier and Favorite toys - I bring a pacifier for emergency cases since some babies become fussy in flight. But we didn't use this since Tariel doesn't use a pacifier even before. And also bring a familiar toys for them to entertain.
  4. Stroller/ Car seat- I didn't use either of the two because Tariel is not into stroller. But I think this one is a big help especially if you have multiple bags.
  5. Don't hesitate to ask help- Travelling alone can be exhausting. Don't hesitate to asked help from Flight attendant, security or even the person next to you.

Staycation: Meranti Hotel Quezon City (March 2017)

It's our Tariel's first birthday, but we decided to celebrate it in a simple way. We have a small family lunch at house and then we booked a hotel just here in Manila, and that's is Meranti Hotel located in Quezon City.

Good thing that this hotel is easy to find,we booked via travelbook.ph, for 3 days and 2 nights. Well, based on what i have read on other review Meranti hotel gives a complimentary Gulaman drink upon waiting for checking in, I saw a group of koreans were given this drink and the sad reality is we didn't received that drink even upon reaching our room. Though their staff are accommodating and smiling all the time.

(Hotel lobby)

Room:
We booked a standard room, the room is very spacious and enough for the three of us, Tariel can walk and crawl around the room. But our room is facing a big white wall, I do hope that they offer their room with a view. Another good thing about their room is they have a SMART TV so you can browse the net if you want.

Breakfast:

Breakfast is served near the hotel lobby, there's a few range of food to choose from, but I think you can check their menu for other choices. (anyway we received a complimentary pancake for Tariel :) lucky kiddo!)

 (OUR BREAKFAST)

(a wide mirror for OOTD)

Bathroom:

What I don't like on their bathroom is your reflection can be seen at the opposite side where there's a wide mirror (see my post above), the glass frost didn't help a lot to cover up.

(Hotel Facade)

POOL:

The Pool is located at the roof top, they called it 'Penthouse'. A small size dipping pool and you can't enjoy it once it become crowded. Good thing that we were the first one to use the pool and we are able to take a photo like this.

Overall we had a good stay in Meranti Hotel, my husband want to go back here :)

How to get Philippine Passport for Babies

Yesterday, my husband and I walked in DFA Robinsons Novaliches. It was a newly open DFA Satellite office.Good thing it was a 30 minute away from our home.

We arrived at DFA Novaliches at exactly 11:50 AM but the malls open at 10:00 AM, we were asked if we have appointment and we just said that we are just walk-in the guard direct us inside and a receptionist ushered us on the priority lane he asked if how many of us to get a passport and I said me and my son, I will change my surname kasi (Changing of surname and married status is good as Renew application).
One adult may ride the infant priority pass so if you are pregnant or just giving birth recently this is the best time since you don't have to set an appointment.

Here's are the documents that you needed (For Baby's):

  • PSA Copy of Birth Certificate
  • Personal appearance of Baby
  • Accomplished form to be given by the staff or you may download it HERE
  • A photocopied of  both parents passport (For legitimate child)
  • Marriage Certificate of Minor parents (PSA Authenticated)

The processed is smooth after filling up the form we go directly to Window 8 for verification of documents and then to Cashier we pay PHP 1,200. After that we just wait our number in the screen for encoding. Tariel that time is a bit fussy, so make sure to bring a toy to distract your baby.

For those who will change their surname and married status:

  • PSA Copy of Marriage Certificate
  • Accomplished form to be given by the staff
  • Your recent passport
  • Photocopy of your recent passport

That's all if you have some question you may call the DFA hotline for clarification.
