Cocoon Boutique Hotel 2015 (Quezon City)

Last year November 14, 2015 after my wedding we decided to spend a night in Cocoon Boutique Hotel, our first night as husband and wife. Since I'm pregnant during that time stay cation is the best option for us and Cocoon is just in Quezon city not far away on my home. We booked through Agoda, though it's our first time to stay in this hotel, this is not the first time we visit it , way back in 2013 we avail their discounted promo in their Spa through dealgrocer. Aside from that this hotel is number 1 in Quezon City. See photos below:

From my Tripadvisor review:

We stayed here last Nov. 14, 2015 right after my wedding, We already tried the Spa here way back in 2013 but it's our first time to stay overnight. The receptionist was accommodating he even asked us if there's any occasion that we celebrate and i said that we were on honeymoon. I thought he is going to give us some token or whatever but he just smiled or maybe he didn't believe that we were newlywed. The next thing happened we were given keys to a wrong room. It was a deluxe room and we book a Studio king. I wonder how come he made a mistake since we handle a Agoda print to him anyway we called him right away and we were transfer to our designated room. Were plan to roam in rooftop but there's an event happening. The Breakfast buffet is fine nothing much to choose from. I think this hotel is overpriced

4 Travel tips for Couples

If you notice most of my travel post is all about my adventure with my beau so I decided to write four travel tips for the couples like us, some of them are based on my experienced that’s I why I want to share this.

1.  Have a Travel Fund- of course this is important before anything else having a fund will make you feel confident to spend your money just for travel and also to track your budget as earliest as possible you can put it on a separate bank account or a piggy bank label it for example: 15k for Baguio Trip, from that your mind set to budget that amount in your specific trip.

2.  Plan together- of course two of you are involved in this trip so why not plan this together? Delegate a task for example I’m the one in charge for hotel booking and what documents to bring while my boyfriend in charge in itinerary and budgeting.

3.  Pack light- Literally, this is the most common tips for most travelers but this also should be applied to couples. Bring only what necessary so you will not end up focus on the thing that you bring. aside from that you can easily move around.

4.   Enjoy and have fun- don’t sweat small stuff (I’m guilty to this!) cherish your moment together, always remember that you spend vacation to enjoy.

Pacific Waves Inn Annex (Baler) Review

On our Second day we check out in Costa Pacifica Baler and transfer to much Affordable inn and that’s the Pacific Waves Inn Annex a walking distance to the beach compare to pacific waves main but we don’t mind we arrived at 12:30 PM a personnel in charge ask us for a copy of confirmation email.

It’s hard to find an affordable Inn around baler since all of them are fully booked good thing that when I asked Pacific waves Main they told us that Annex has still have an available room that’s why we don’t think twice we contact Pacific waves Annex and  told them to reserve us.

 (Our Room)

(Best for Solo traveler and Couples)

(House Rule & Reminders)

We were assign at Room#2 and it’s enough for us since the room is good for solo or two person, a caretaker told us that the check in time is 1:00 pm (or 2:00pm) which I can’t remember and they will charged additionally since we already open the air con but B told them that we were going to check out earlier which is 3:30 am in midnight and most of the time we were out I’m glad that she allowed us.

There is no toiletries provided but you can buy from them you can also request a towel which is free of charge.

Our Room has an A/C with LCD TV, Hot and Cold Shower. And that’s only for 1500PHP
If you’re in Budget and a Backpacker choose this Pacific Waves Inn they have a clean, modest room and a accommodating staff even I texted at night they still answer my queries.

When we check out they even thank us through text and we highly appreciated it.

(Thank you Message)

Fernandina Garden Suites

Fernandina Garden Suites Review:

As I celebrate my 26th birthday, I look for a hotel within metro manila that suit our budget, since we want to experience staycation in manila, we found this Fernandina Garden Suites through internet, and they have a 40% off promo for the month of October. It’s a catch that’s why I grab the opportunity and booked them right away. They allowed bringing of foods inside my bf texted them for the confirmation.

Location:

Located in G. Araneta avenue accessible to all transportation, you have to take a cab to get in.

Room:

I booked a double deluxe room but we were assigned at Standard room, I was about to call their attention but b stop me since a queen size bed is enough for him, he don’t want to ruin my birthday celebration, what I notice is the room has a dust accumulate on the side table, and a cob webs I wonder if they do really check and maintain each room. It has no dining table, and no slippers provided.

Bathroom drain clogged even the lavatory is clogged.
Wi-Fi is password secured ask them for the password.

Staff & Services:

Maybe one of the reasons why we are assigned at the wrong room it’s because the front desk receptionist didn’t even bother to read the confirmation letter I gave to her, we were assigned right away at room 14. The Complimentary breakfast delivered to our room has only one cup of coffee so I called them to bring another one. What another off to me is the front desk called us to remind us that the check out time is 12:00, we’ve been to different hotel and never experienced this other allowed us to stay for 30 minutes without extra charge, and the front desk called us again ‘’Mam, 12:05 na po’’. It’s totally turn off to think that there’s only few or almost no guest at all aside from us but they want us to leave the place right away upon check out they didn’t even say ‘thank you’ to us.

Amenities:

No garden I thought it was a Bed & Breakfast type of accommodation that’s how tripadvisor classify. It only has a grass and nothing special. It’s far away on how the hotel describes it in their website.

Rates:

Affordable rates good for those who want a quick stay, I rather get what I pay for like what I said we booked a double deluxe room but we were assigned at standard room. The time is not flexible they don’t promote extending your time to their hotel.

Overall our stay is ruined but i don't mind it at all good thing that my bf is very understandable, it's a wake up call to both of us to thoroughly choose a hotel base on service and not on it's rates. I hope that the FGS management will improve their service.

Unplanned Overnight at Tagaytay

Actually our plan is to have a day tour in tagaytay, unfortunately because of heavy rains and it was 4:30 when we arrived in olivarez, our first stop was picnic grove but it was foggy and slippery and the picnic grove will close at 5:00 , after the quick stroll we walk along calamba road highway to look for a budget lodging house, until we found this 5r Rooms for Rent we got their standard fan room for 1000 pesos which is already cheap since all the hotels around the area are fully booked.

Toiletries

Still smiling.

They doesn't have a restaurant so we called Jollibee for food deliver. the room was clean it has a veranda but the veranda is a common area where in the other guest can cross to our room if the room was not lock. They have wi-fi but it can't reach our room, another thing their shower doesn't have a hot or cold options so borrow the generic dipping heater.

We will definitely back in tagaytay but better to booked advanced in a Cozy posh hotel for better experience. our rating for this hotel is 6 out of 10.
